Can Ukrainian civil society offer their rules to guide the conduct of international partners and donors in Ukraine? Ukrainian dialogue facilitators explained to international actors what “dialogue” means in Ukraine and how to work with it according to Ukrainian rules. Whether the attempt was successful and what lessons can be derived for localization of international aid, read in the article by Tetiana Kyselova, advisor to the Ukrainian Community of Dialogue Practitioners, and Vira Axyonova, a researcher at the University of Vienna.
The study questions the effectiveness of international norms at the local level and demonstrates the importance of the initiatives of Ukrainian dialogue practitioners in developing new approaches that are unique not only in Ukraine but also in the world.
